The private tour Pompeii and Ravello with wine tasting combines the passion for history and wine, as you will be visiting the famous Roman ruins of Pompeii and an unexpected Amalfi Coast, with churches, centuries old vineyards and unpolluted nature where time has stopped.
The private full-day tour departs from the port of Sorrento at 8am, in a chauffeured air-conditioned Mercedes vehicle with an English speaking driver (holding a white sign with your name), heading around the Bay of Naples to the famous archaeological site of Pompeii.
Upon arrival, you will get a guided walking tour (2 hours) of the excavations, where you will discover streets, baths, villas, the Forum, and beautiful frescoes, frozen in time since the devastating eruption of Vesuvius in 79 AD.
We will then drive through the country-side to get to Ravello, a rural village un-spoilt by tourism, perched on top of a mountain cliff situated above Amalfi and Minori. Here you will have the chance to visit the beautiful gardens of Villa Rufolo and Villa Cimbrone with stunning views of the Amalfi Coast.
Around 1:30pm, you will get to Tramonti, in an 18th century farm, located in the Regional Park of “Monti Lattari”; you will tour the old vineyards with a guide who will explain how the grapes are grown and harvested in these area and will then show you the cellars and how the wines are made. A guided tasting will give you an insight of the Amalfi Coast DOC wines.
