Enjoy a relaxing private day tour from the port of Sorrento to Positano, Amalfi and Ravello with your local driver, travelling in a Mercedes vehicle. We recommend to have always your camera ready for photo stops along the way.
Positano since Roman times a famous holiday destination, is considered one of the most beautiful towns in the world. Its unique mix of seascapes, colours, art, and cultural life has fascinated many famous artists, such as Picasso, Toscanini, Bernstein, and Steinbeck. Sightseeing in the village covers a range of historical and archaeological highlights. The cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta, with its green and yellow majolica dome, is visible from nearly every part of town. Other sights include the Villa Romana and the Botanical Gardens. The main shopping is in Via dei Mulini, many of them offering what is known around the world as “Positano Fashion”.
Amalfi about 29 miles southeast of Naples, lies at the mouth of a deep ravine, at the foot of Monte Cerreto (4,314 feet), surrounded by dramatic cliffs and coastal scenery. The town of Amalfi was the capital of the maritime republic known as the Duchy of Amalfi, an important trading power in the Mediterranean between 839 and around 1200. Do not miss the Paper Mill Museum that stands as testimony to a time long gone, when papermaking was a closely guarded secret; the Museum of the Compass and the famous Cathedral of St. Andrew, full of interesting sights.
Ravello 350 meters above sea level, is one of the most fascinating places along the Amalfi Coast with a rich history. The town offers stunning views of the Mediterranean. A visit to the spectacular Cathedral in Vescovado Square and to Villa Cimbrone and Villa Rufolo with their amazing gardens are a “must-see”. During summer months the city hosts the annual Music Festival, an event started in 1953 in honour of Richard Wagner and continued as a celebration of local art and music.
You can spend more or less time in each of these towns; your private driver will make sure you have a great day and on request, he will suggest you a local restaurant (not touristy) with sea view.
